    Description

You are looking at an original certificate of appreciation from 1972, issued to a US Marine, stationed in Okinawa, who assisted in grading an athletic field in the town of Katsuren.  The certificate was signed and presented by the Mayor, Masatsune Nohara.  It measures 10 1/2" x 14 3/4" and is in excellent condition - no tears, marks, creases or fading.  The town of Katsuren no longer exists, as it was merged in 2005 with the town of Yonashiro, and the cities of Gushikawa and Ishikawa to form the city of Uruma, Okinawa.  This certificate, a one-of-a-kind memento, is a great collectible and fitting addition to any Vietnam era exhibit or Okinawa memorabilia collection.  It comes from a smoke free, pet free, climate-controlled home.  Thanks for your interest.    115
